Learning Experience Designer
My name is Emily Paterson and I’m a recent alum of Michigan State University from Warren, Michigan. As I begin to look towards the next chapter of my life, I am passionate about furthering my design and communications work within informal learning institutions, including museums, public media, libraries, and other educational non-profits.
For as long as I can remember, I have found that my strength lies in my ability to synthesize complex topics into an easily understandable, accessible medium. From a colorful game to a succinct infographic, I love taking something complicated or convoluted and turning it into a version that wider audiences can understand and connect with.

With a focus in content writing and user experience design, I thrive when I am constantly learning and trying new things in whatever role I do. For me, it is crucial that I am always channeling my drive and creativity into causes that I care about—doing my best to leave the world a better place than when I found it.
In my free time, I enjoy seeking out new cats to pet, visiting my local movie theater, practicing my roller skating skills, collecting stickers, and doodling smiley faces :)
